What this disclaimer covers
Ora Expeditions (komododragonboat.com) is a specialist information and booking-concierge site for wildlife-first Komodo dragon boat tours, with all reservations handled by our operating partner, Komodo Luxury. Everything on this website is published in good faith for general guidance only. Prices, fees, schedules, park rules, and wildlife information are accurate to the best of our knowledge as of 2026 and are subject to change without notice. This page explains the limits of what we promise, last reviewed 5 July 2026.
We wrote this in plain language on purpose. If any single line matters to your booking or your budget, confirm it with our reservations team on WhatsApp at +62 811 3823 875 or by email at sales@komodoluxury.com before you pay.
Who operates this site, and who books your trip?
Ora Expeditions is the editorial and booking-concierge brand for komododragonboat.com. The website is published by Juara Holding Group. Tours featured here are operated and reserved by Komodo Luxury, a Labuan Bajo-based tour operator founded in 2015, with its reservations team handling bookings directly. Komodo Luxury’s regional office is listed at Jl. Soekarno Hatta, Labuan Bajo, Kec. Komodo, Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur 86763.
To be clear about our role:
- We are an independent concierge and information service that routes enquiries to Komodo Luxury.
- We are not the government, not the Komodo National Park authority, and not UNESCO. This is not an official park, conservation, or government website.
- We do not own the boats, own the islands, employ the park rangers, set the park regulations, or collect the national park entrance and ranger fees. Those fees are set by the authorities and paid on-island at Rinca or Komodo.
- We are not a licensed financial, legal, insurance, or tax adviser. Nothing here is professional advice of any kind.
Are the prices on this site guaranteed?
No. Every price, fee, and figure on this site is a reference figure as of 2026 and is subject to change. Tour costs in Indonesia move with season, fuel, boat type, group size, and currency. We attribute third-party figures to their source in the text so you can judge them.
Some quoted examples on this site, and their limits:
| Figure | Source, as we cite it | Important caveat |
|---|---|---|
| Shared 2D1N Komodo & Pink Beach boat tour from USD 179 | Listed by GetYourGuide | Covers shared boat, cabin, and meals only; excludes park and ranger fees |
| Multi-day liveaboard averaging ~USD 100 per day | General industry guide figure | Typically includes meals, island hopping, snorkel gear, boat accommodation |
| Budget 2D1N at 600,000 IDR (about USD 45) | One independent traveler’s report | Excludes national park entrance and ranger fees |
| Private 2D1N charter at 2.5–3 million IDR (about USD 210–250) | A quoted charter rate | Excludes national park fees and snorkel gear (rentable at ~USD 3/day) |
The single most common misunderstanding: national park entrance fees and ranger fees are almost always excluded from the tour price and are paid separately on the island. Always ask our reservations team for a current, itemized quote in writing before you commit. Any IDR-to-USD conversion shown here is approximate and moves with the exchange rate.
Can you guarantee we will see a Komodo dragon?
No. Komodo dragons are wild animals, and sightings can never be guaranteed. Komodo and Rinca are, per detailed regional guides, the only two islands on Earth where you can hike with wild Komodo dragons, and while Rinca is described as offering the most reliable sightings, “reliable” is not a promise. We build itineraries backwards from your best odds by season, island, and time of day, but nature does not sign contracts.
The same honesty applies to everything outside human control:
- Wildlife. Dragon, manta ray, and flying-fox sightings depend on the animals, not on us.
- Weather and sea conditions. Boat routes, sunrise viewpoints such as Padar Island, and snorkeling stops can be changed or cancelled for safety.
- Rangers and safety rules. Ranger accompaniment is mandatory for dragon viewing on both Komodo and Rinca. Dragons reach up to 3 meters, run up to 20 km/h, swim, climb, and carry toxic glands in the lower jaw described as delivering a bite lethal to humans. You must walk behind the stick-carrying ranger, keep the minimum distance, never feed or bait the animals, and make no sudden movements or running. These rules exist for your safety and the animals’ welfare, and they are non-negotiable.
What about park regulations and access?
Komodo National Park is managed by the Indonesian authorities, and the rules change. One operator reports the park is now limited to 1,000 visitors per day across the entire park, with entries date-locked and linked to passport registration, which is why we tell travelers to book early. Komodo National Park is UNESCO World Heritage-listed, spans 669 square miles across 29 islands, and sits within the Asia-Pacific Coral Triangle, in Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur.
We summarize these rules for planning convenience only. For the official, current, and binding regulations, fees, quotas, and booking systems, always consult the relevant Indonesian government and park authority channels. Where our summary and the authorities differ, the authorities are correct.
Booking, payments, and liability
When you book a tour through Ora Expeditions, your contract for the trip itself is with the operator, Komodo Luxury, and is governed by that operator’s own booking terms, cancellation policy, and conditions of carriage. We recommend you read those terms and take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance that covers boat travel and remote-area activity.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We make no guarantee of specific sightings, outcomes, weather, sea conditions, connecting flight schedules, or third-party service quality.
- We are not liable for loss, injury, delay, or additional cost arising from wildlife behavior, weather, sea conditions, government or park decisions, changes to fees or quotas, or force majeure.
- Links and references to third parties, including GetYourGuide, airlines, and quoted rates, are for information only and are not endorsements; we do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, prices, or availability.
Nothing in this disclaimer limits any right you have under Indonesian consumer-protection law or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
How we handle your data (UU PDP and GDPR)
When you contact us by WhatsApp (+62 811 3823 875) or email (sales@komodoluxury.com), we collect only what we need to answer your enquiry and arrange your booking, such as your name, contact details, travel dates, and party size. We use that information to quote, book, and support your trip, and we share it with the operator, Komodo Luxury, for the same purpose.
We aim to handle personal data in line with Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (Undang-Undang No. 27 of 2022, “UU PDP”). For visitors from the European Union and United Kingdom, we are also mindful of the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): lawful basis, data minimization, and your rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your data. To exercise any of these rights, email sales@komodoluxury.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. We do not sell your personal data.
Editorial standards and honesty
Ora Expeditions is edited by a named specialist editor, Rafael Tanaya, our Komodo wildlife and boat-tour editor, and published by Juara Holding Group. We do not fabricate reviews, ratings, awards, or credentials, and we describe Komodo Luxury using only its real, verifiable details. Figures are date-stamped (“as of 2026”) because they age. We will correct genuine errors when they are pointed out.
If you spot something on this site that is out of date or wrong, please tell us, and if any statement here conflicts with a written quote from our reservations team, the written quote you receive prevails.
